THE PATH OF MOM: Cultivating Health and Harmony in the Individual, Family, Community, and Humanity

Mother Om Mission's (MOM) work provides the missing link in today's spiritual, social, economical, nutritional and medical systems in our society and in the world. MOM is a significant tool for reordering our innate power to heal ourselves and therefore reducing human and societal tension, eliminating poverty, and alleviating disease. This work has helped thousands of people to heal from life-threatening diseases such as cancer and heart disease and has helped many impoverished communities recover good health and wholesome nourishment. I teach the individual to cultivate health and wellness of body, mind and spirit. By putting the individual in touch with her own nature, each person takes responsibility for her well-being and strive to maintain a healthy and wholesome life. When everyone begins to reclaim good health, the community comes together in healing and nurturing ways.

Let me introduce MOM's path of practice that has been helping individuals and communities to heal from devastating disorders. MOM's path is based in the principles of the Vedas -- the oldest spiritual texts of India. I began my own study of the Vedas after recovering from cancer. In these rich texts, I unearthed long-forgotten spiritual and natural health practices that are relevant to our lives and our material and spiritual needs today as they were to the ancestors who received them. MOM's path of reclaiming radiant health and prosperity is based on the Vedic principle of ahimsa -- compassion for all God's creatures and the means of cultivating a non-harmful, non-hurting relationship toward the self, toward others, toward nature and all her life's forms. Nonviolence is a practice of paramount importance that in MOM we strive to have inform all of our behavior. Every bite of food we eat, every word we utter, every breath we take, every choice we make, we strive to make it peaceful. Any hurt that we cause through unwholesome nourishment, negative thought, action, and speech has a damaging effect on us and everyone and everything around us. Any hurt that we cause through inattention or thoughtlessness or unaware action is an aggression that perpetuates itself. We must strive to remember that each particle of the universe, each animate and inanimate particle of the universe contains its own distinct mind and memory.
