Namaste,
Jaya Sadguru Sri Swami Dayananda Sarasvati!
Jaya Mata Swamini Mayatitananda Maa!
You are invited to celebrate Guru Purnima with prayers and love to honor our beloved spiritual teacher Sri Swamini Mayatitananda (Mother) and our Sadguru - the Venerable Pujya Sri Dayananda Sarasvati.
Let us celebrate Lord Shiva in the form of Dakshinamurti who transmitted the wisdom of Self Knowledge to the sages. May we also remember and praise the magnificent Rishi - Vyasa- the first seer of the Veda Vyasa lineage to which our Guru belongs. Guru Purnima honors all the rishis -beginning with Sage Vyasa whose work in compiling the vast knowledge of the Vedas became the inaugural link for its preservation to the present time. The existence of the Vedic spiritual tradition is largely due to its perennial lineage - sampradaya – which unbroken chain of oral communion has been handed down from Guru to Guru.
Guru Purnima is the auspicious time of the full moon in which all Gurus are worshiped, adored, nurtured, and their health and well-being are prayed for. In Sanskrit, "Guru" means the one who removes the darkness of ignorance. For thousands of years the Vedic people have celebrated its Guru tradition as its most precious asset ---physically, emotionally and spiritually. The knowledge of the Vedas is transmitted to the psyche of the world by the sages, and saints who traverse the universe as beacons of light that sustains consciousness in the human heart. Through the Guru's transmission emerged the global healing practices such as Meditation, Yoga, Ayurveda, Jyotisha, Vastu Sastra, Vedic Mathematics, and Astronomy.
Every Guru Purnima gives us occasion to contemplate the exquisite Well of Wisdom preserved for all time owing to the existence of the Guru.
Please join Wise Earth Sadhakas at 6:00 AM (EST) everyday (during the period of Shukla Paksha July 10th – 24th) from wherever you are perched in reciting Vedic prayer, offering homage to our Spiritual Mother; and our Sadguru!
We will be doing 108 recitations of each prayer:
Guru Stutih- Praise of the Guru
Brahmanandam parama-sukhadam kevalam jnana murtim
Dvandvatitam gagana-sadrsam tat tvam asyadilaksyam/
Ekam Nityam vimalam acalam
Sarvadhi-saksibhuta
Bhavatitam triguna-rahitam sadgurum tam namami//
The one who gives me happiness, who is non-dual (in nature)
Who is the form of knowledge
Who is beyond the pairs of opposites
Who is like space (all pervasive)
Who is the implied meaning: Tat Tvam Asi!
Who is beyond time
Who is pure, still
Who is the witness of the mind
Who is beyond samsara,
Who is free from the three gunas
I honor the Guru who is Truth
