Living Ahimsa®
Vow & Prayer for World Peace |
Namaste,
“I take the Vow of Ahimsa in my thoughts, speech and
action” echoed the voices of some 3, 500 participants
who took the Vow of Ahimsa in November, 2007 while on my
“Peace Be Your Journey” Tour in Australia. This vow is
central to the Living Ahimsa®–The Power of Peace work
which I begun in 2001 following the horrific violence of
9/11. Through this practice participants discover how to
transform hurtful thoughts, words and actions into a
life of inner-harmony and health by making the
cultivation of ahimsa the first priority in their lives.
Since its inauguration, I have personally guided more
than 135,000 participants into the Vow.
We at
Living Ahimsa®–The Power of Peace
have seen how this pure and simple intention of
spirit can take root in many corners of the world,
touching and healing thousands of lives. Our
collective Vow of Ahimsa has a profound impact on
the cosmic psyche of peace and the actualization of
a world at peace.
Here and now, take the vow and invite your friends to
enjoin the Living Ahimsa.

Living Ahimsa® Prayer for World Peace
May each and every person strive to
achieve the spirit of ahimsa- inner harmony – the
essential memory of the heart that safeguards human
intelligence and compassion.
May you remember the Ahimsa Vrata- Prayer for
World Peace resounded by the Rishis from timeless
beginning for the noble benefit of all species.
May you inculcate the spirit of love, compassion, and
nurturance for all live, and may your awareness for all
live -- humans, animals, trees, earth, space, air,
water, fire, and, indeed, every speck of sand -- grow in
quantum leap.
May you shift consciousness to generate a life of
non-hurting and non-violence; and reverence for all
life.
May you never participate in or contribute to the hurt,
despair, or pain of another person or species.
May you encourage others to desist partaking in the
killing and eating of the animals. As long as humans
kill, there can be no peace.
Swasti prajabhyah paripalayantam
Nyayena margena mahim mahisah
Gobrahmanebhyah subhamastu nityam
Lokasamasta sukhino bhavantu
Kale varsatu parjanyah prthivi sasyasalini
Deso yam ksobarahitah brahmanah santu nirbhayah
Om Shantih Shantih Shantih
May everyone be prosperous. May the peacemakers
righteously rule the Earth. Let the animals and
people of wisdom be protected at all times. May all
be happy. May the rains come at the proper time. May
the Earth produce grains. May the world be free from
famine. May the people of contemplation have no
cause for fear. |
